On Saturday I went to test drive my new SHINY THING.  It was so beautiful.  Push button transmission, original tube radio and factory A/C.  Turquoise blue, bench seats, and chrome!  It will be mine.  I think he'll be coming home on Saturday.   I think I'll name him Dougal after my favorite Father Ted character.  What do you think?  Is that a good car name? 

Music

I managed to pick up a few CD's this weekend.  I don't know about you, but I love going to get a good cup of coffee and then wandering around a music store searching for that new CD, replacing the one that's too scratched up, or just adding that missing disc to my collection. 

Kinks:  I finally picked up their first album.  So good.

His & Hers:  A Nifty compilation featuring Daft Punk, The Dandy Warhols, Goldfrapp, The Postal Service, Embrace, Luna and many more.  I'm fond of Bonnie & Clyde by Luna and Ashes by  Embrace.

Oh - I almost forgot!  I went to this communal house thing in Los Feliz where Food Not Bombs cooks and met a fantastic person and a duck and a chicken.  The duck was so cute!  It just wanders around and plays in its kiddie pool.  I think I may go back and help with a cook out.  Umm..for Food Not Bombs, not the duck.  I'm a veggie after all.

I also met up with an old high school friend for dinner at the pub in Santa Monica, some pool, and a little gelato.  It was nice to see him again.  I must admit he looks the same.  Hasn't aged a bit.

My Current Addiction

Well, its finally happened.  Two scarves in and I'm addicted.  That's right, I have a yarn addiction.  I just can't help myself.  It's all so soft and fluffy and comes in so many varieties.  What's a gal to do?  I've almost gone through the stash from New York and feel this intense need to replenish the stash.  Luckily I'm headed over to That Yarn Store in Eagle Rock later for a lesson.  I have visions of mohair, and angora and super chunky alpaca in my head.  Golly Gee Whiz, this craft is going to cost me a fortune!

Here I Am

Another year, another year older and my quest for the perfect shiny thing continues.  I've decided that myspace was just not the right type of shiny thing and am moving on to blogging on typepad.  Oh the horror!  No more myspace comments, and surveys, and random friend requests.  I think I'll survive.  After coming to the realization that I actually like the few really good friends that I have and when I want to talk to them I do this crazy thing called "picking up the phone" instead of messaging them.  I think my life will be a little more simple now.

Anyway...I'll continue to be the survey whore that I am.  Post random pictures.  Blog about my various injuries, bruises and adventures in Los Angeles.  So stick around guys and gals, this should be one hell of a year on my quest for the perfect shiny thing, the perfect cup of coffee and a little calm in my life.
