Earlier this week I traveled to Vegas for the Consumer Electronic Show. Good old CES. The great Las Vegas Convention Center filled with shiny things and geeks. It can be an wondrous experience. I was there to demo, walk the floor, meet people, etc. On Monday I walked the floor, hung out in the Dolby VIP "Suite Spot" lounge, and worked a booth. Tuesday and met up with a bunch of gals in the industry and talked shop and then went out with the boys to party hop.
We hit the Google/U-tube party, the Best Buy Party at Pure, and then a private party at the Palms. It was all quite fantastic really. The drinks and snacks were good, the company was better, the limo ride was fun.
The funny thing about this trip was that I was looking for a shiny thing of my very own, but it turns out I was the shiny thing. Maybe I shouldn't have worn those patent leather boots and my pink tie. Perhaps the "Talk Nerdy to Me" T-shirt was too much. Either way I haven't gotten that much attention in ages. Now, if I can only get the nice boys to to pay attention to me away from Vegas and in a non alcohol induced stupor.
