Christmas in New Mexico

I really thought that Christmas was going to be horrible.  Away from my family, my mom just passed away and off I go to meet my boyfriends Mom.  Boy, was I wrong.

It was wonderful, his Mom was wonderful and it snowed!  Santa Boyscout was beyond wonderful and really made my Christmas special.  I got everything I wanted except a micro-pig.

The Postal Service

Yesterday was pretty crappy.  I was just having a hard time with everything.  All I could think about was how much I missed my Mom.  Having my family so far away is difficult, and I don't yet feel comfortable calling them all the time.  I use to talk to her about every other day.

After work I went shoe shopping for Santa Fe.  I was starting to get a little hysterical about finding a pair of tennis shoes for the trip.  There was nothing that would work in the gals section that would fit me.  Getting a size 11 seems to be such a chore unless I order them.  I ended up going over the guys section a found a pair of cute black Puma's on sale for $40.  Thank goodness that ordeal was over.

I got home miraculously in one piece.  It's been raining in Los Angeles and people don't know how to drive here.  Upon arriving at home I was pleasantly surprised to find a card from Santa Fe.  That just made my day.   Xmas is going to ok.

I finished wrapping the gifts, tossed some wrapping paper around for Mr. Pyewacket, and then settled into the couch with some soy hot chocolate and my cat.

Cone-A-No-Go

My lovely poor left foot got jacked up my a horribly mean and treacherous traffic cone on Friday night.

Mr. Boyscout and I along with the rest of the Reflections were scooting through the Festival of Lights when a the offending orange thing jumped out in front of my left foot and bent it really far back in a way it was not meant to bend!

I yelped, the man pulled over and luckily the foot was not broken.  So I hopped back on and we continued on our merry freezing way.  Thank goodness for warm clothes on cold nights.   Who knew L.A. could be so freezing or that traffic cones were really that heavy?

Barely There

On Sunday the Boyscout and I stopped at the outlet mall on our way home from Grandma's house.  I found the most wonderful thing ever while I was there.

I bought 3.  I have such a hard time finding good brassieres.  I'm tall and not too busty.  Usually the straps aren't long enough or the fabric puckers or they dig in funny.  Now I am in bra heaven and sharing the news with everyone.  I highly recommend this line.  They are cheap and cotton and comfortable.  I even broke out of my "I only buy beige and black bra's" routine and got a fuchsia one. Whoopee!

Money, Money, Money

Where do I start....

On Thursday I went to get my oil changed on the truck so that I could drive it up Saturday morning to see my Grandma.  I haven't seen my Grandma since before my mom passed and thought it was time to make the trip.  The Dodge dealership changed my oil and did a few other odds and ends that I'd been neglecting.  I got out of there for about $300 or so I thought. 

As the cashier gal was ringing me up she accidentally charged my debit card $1200.  This basically wiped out my entire checking account.  She then voided the transaction and promised that it would be instant. Then charged me for the correct amount of $300.  Things just didn't seem right.  So I went down to my bank just to make sure.  Well, my account had been debited of $1200 and the $300 sending my account into overdraft.  I was pissed.  I called the dealership and tried my best not to yell.  They called banks, and it turns out that the void sometimes doesn't go into effect for up to 3 business days.  Fuck that!  My rent check was about to clear and I was getting ready for a weekend trip.  I told them to fix it now, by end of business day. So they called, and called and finally fixed it.  They made the poor girl who did it call me back in tears and say she was sorry. 

It was quite the exciting afternoon.

Too top it all off, my credit cards jacked my interest rates because when my mom was in hospice and I was back and forth I was late one month.  One month and my rates go up.

I'm not in a happy money place right now.

It's time to get frugal, and start paying everything off pronto. 

Satisfaction

The Boyscout picked me up on Saturday night for a lovely date.

The parking was a nightmare because some kids were having a RAVE nearby.  As we were trying to park we kept seeing groups of teenagers walking by with glo-sticks and really bad club gear milling about.  You know what I'm talking about.  Girls in practically their underwear and guys in tacky shirts. 

Once we found our parking spot and headed in to the Bordello, http://bordellobar.com , all was dandy.  The music was good, the drink was good, and the dancing was fun.  My Boyscout knows how to dance.  Does yours?
