My Knickers Are Freezing

Greetings from Arcata!

Its so freezing up here.  Ok, its not that cold, but compared to Los Angeles which has been on fire lately, its pretty damn cold.  This morning I had to thaw out my delicates in front of the heater before getting dressed.

Adventures so far:
My 9 year old nephew helped me figure out how to make a movie on my webcam. 
I've actually eaten beef and pork and am having scallops for dinner tonight. 
I got my bad back tattoo fixed. 
Drank more coffee than one should.

Now all I have to do is wait for Francis to show up and my trip will be complete.

Oh, and this little guy is Caden.  Isn't he adorable?

Green Gloves

I recently bought a laptop and decided to use my Mom's old Northcoast Children's Services bag to tote it about.  When I was going through the pockets I found her green knit gloves.  They still smell like her. 

L.A. is Burning

I've always had issues with the air quality in Los Angeles.  When I first moved down here in 1998 my nose would just randomly gush blood to show its displeasure at being removed from behind the redwood curtain.  Last year I got some form of the SARS (just kidding, but it felt like it) and was sick for weeks.  When I started at my newest office building I had a cough the first 3 months as I acclimated to the building.  I think it was something in the cleaning products or maybe even the carpeting.  Now I'm having chest pains from the fires.  I just can't breath well which is giving me a tremendous headache.  My eyes are watery which does not help the black eyeliner stay on very well.  As soon as I'm done for the day I'm off to get an inhaler and breath deeply over a bowl of steaming water.
