Last night B and I had plans to go see Jake La Botz at the Redwood downtown. After work I went home and proceeded to hop in the shower. As soon as my right foot made contact with the tub floor it slipped out from under me. My left shin landed hard on the edge of the tub. Now my shower has a sliding glass door. Having your shin land on the tracks for the door is very painful. After howling and swearing like a sailor I cleaned up the blood, finished my shower and proceeded to head out for the night.
Once I arrived at the bar with B I could feel my leg starting to throb. Luckily we had a good bartender who made her a sea breeze and lovely black strap rum and coke for myself. We chatted with Jake for a while before he went on.
Around 11 I was done in and headed back to my bed.
What does a gal do when she comes
out of a whirl wind? She stops going out so much, reads more books and picks up
the knitting needles again.
Last night was very strange. I was suppose to go to Ventura to see my favorite person, Mr. E's, band play. Instead I ended up home with my freaked out cat trying to figure out what was wrong with her. Turns out poor Bonny-Lee was in heat. She is getting a nice trip to the vet on Thursday to take care of her issues. After all of that was sorted I settled on the sofa for a relaxing evening of The Black Donnelly's. But lo and behold a skulker showed up.
First time Mr. Man tried to peer into the blinds I figured he was lost and looking for the correct apartment. No big deal.
Second time, the cats were on high alert and growling at the door. Mr. Man was back and trying to look in various windows. He was now officially lurking.
Third time he walked right up onto my porch and stayed there for about 2 minutes.
I did what any self respecting girl would do and called in support. By this point I was actually nervous. It may be time to get a baseball bat or some pepper spray.
This morning I talked to a few of my neighbors. The girl upstairs said a woman was attacked out in front of the building next to ours about a month ago. I live in a safe neighborhood. This stuff isn't suppose to happen.
I spent the last 2 days on the couch watching DVD's trying to get better. I made it back into work today, but felt like going home when I saw my in box was over flowing.
Most of the time I watched The Black Donnelly's. I loved this show and its too bad it was canceled. I highly recommend it and you should add it to your Netflix list.
B and I went to the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona on Saturday in her 1960 T-bird. It rained and then it rained some more. It rained so much, that now I am sick. At least we had fun. We got to the show around 10 am and had to retreat for soup at cocktails at Taix in order to survive.
Damn, my hair go so frizzy in the rain. At least the Belle looked good.
I finally got internet set up at home. Its nice not to have to go to the coffee shop to read the news.
The cable guy was a little strange. He kept fishing for info to see if I have a boyfriend. Luckily my background picture on my laptop is of me and G-man. So he became instant boyfriend. No need for the cable guy to know the details.
Is it Friday yet?
I should never be allowed to have 2 Margaritas and 2 shots of Tequila in one sitting.
Friday was nice and mellow. I stopped by the Fox and the Hounds in Studio City for a co-workers going away party. She's off to London to start a very exciting new life. After having one drink I headed over the Echo Park, grabbed by friend B and we went off to the wine bar. Our waitress was crap. She was actually kind of bitchy and almost ruined our lovely evening out. At least the wine and strawberries were good.
Saturday was wrench day. I spend most of the afternoon at Bar Italia Classics trying to get the guys to help me with the Dart. After about 2 hours of yapping we finally made it to the parts store. Dougal the Wonder Dart got a tune up and now runs much better. Now for that paint job...
I was suppose to go see a movie on Saturday night, but ended up staying in. Laying on the couch watching Battlestar Galactica Season 3 was just what the doctor ordered.
Sunday Mr. Ed and I had lunch in Santa Barbara and did a little shopping. I managed to get a new Vintage Dress. Mr. Ed picked up some new slacks. I always have so much fun with him. Its too bad he lives so far away. On my way home I made the mistake of stopping at the outlet mall. Thank goodness I didn't do too much damage. I ended up back on the couch not feeling too well. I probably should have just stayed home.
